In October 2024 Twmpath Annwn moves downstream to St Dogmaels on the Teifi estuary.
The Twmpath brings a community together for the unexpected joys of dancing. Three times a year children, grown-ups, parents, grandparents, people from near and far meet and dance as a village for the evening.
As well as traditional social dances, we invite guest artists to perform, giving those present a new context in which to share and experience contemporary forms of dance.
We have been doing these events since 2009. Over 30 village dances have happened where over 25 dance artists have shared their work and ideas to over 2000 people.
The band Tân Annwn (Elsa Davies, Ceri Owen Jones, Peni Ediker, Stef Balesi) continue to shine a light on these occasions and their work as researchers and re-imaginers of Welsh folk music promotes dance and music culture for all and intersects with our interests in social choreography.
Ym mis Hydref 2024 mae Twmpath Annwn yn symud i lawr yr afon i Llandudoch ar lan yr afon Teifi.
Mae’r achlysur hwn yn dod â chymuned ynghyd ar gyfer llawenydd annisgwyl dawnsio. Tair gwaith y flwyddyn mae plant, oedolion, rhieni, neiniau a theidiau, pobl o bell ac agos yn cyfarfod ac yn dawnsio fel pentref am y noson.
Yn ogystal â dawnsiau cymdeithasol traddodiadol, rydym yn gwahodd artistiaid gwadd i berfformio, gan roi cyd-destun newydd i’r rhai sy’n cyflwyno rannu a phrofi ffurfiau cyfoes o ddawns. Rydym wedi bod yn cynnal y digwyddiadau hyn ers 2009. Mae 26 o ddawnsfeydd pentref wedi digwydd lle mae dros 20 o artistiaid dawns wedi rhannu eu gwaith a’u syniadau i dros 1700 o bobl.
Mae’r band Tân Annwn (Elsa Davies, Ceri Owen Jones, Peni Ediker, Stef Balesi) yn parhau i daflu goleuni ar yr achlysuron hyn ac mae eu gwaith fel ymchwilwyr ac ail-ddychmygwyr cerddoriaeth werin Gymreig yn hybu diwylliant dawns a cherddoriaeth i bawb ac yn croestorri ein diddordebau mewn coreograffi cymdeithasol.
